Octodius Creators

Frequently asked questions

Do I get paid?+

Not yet. Creator payouts are planned but not live, and we would rather say so than promise something we can't pay. When a payout program starts, its terms will be published first and apply only to creators who accept them.

Who owns what I write?+

You do. You give Octodius a non-exclusive licence to host, display and promote it while it is published. The details are in the Creator terms.

Can I use AI tools?+

Yes, to draft, outline or edit. You are still the author: read every line, run every piece of code, open every source, and say in your submission notes if a large part was drafted by a tool. See the guidelines.

What should I write about?+

Something you have done, tested or can source, for a specific reader. Practical posts and guided builds that end with working code fit Octodius best. Your application asks for your first idea, so you can check the fit with us before you write.

What is a guided build?+

A project where a learner builds a small, working app step by step, with a check at each step so they know it worked. Guided builds are free for learners.

Do I need an account?+

Yes, an Octodius account, which is free. You sign in once on octodius.com and you are signed in here too.

What happens if my application isn't approved?+

You can apply again from your application page. A clearer first idea and links to work that shows how you write and code make the biggest difference.

When can I start writing?+

The Creator Studio opens to approved creators in stages as the program launches. If you are approved before it opens, your account stays approved, and the Studio appears here when it does.

How long does review take?+

A reviewer reads your draft, runs the code and checks sources, then accepts it, asks for changes or declines it with the reason. Expect at most two rounds of changes.

Can I remove something I published?+

Yes. Email hello@octodius.com and we will unpublish it.
